3 Summer Foods That Dental Implants Can Help You Enjoy
June 8, 2023
Summer is here, which means it’s time to enjoy all the delicious summer foods that the season is known for. If you have dental implants, they should be able to give you access to foods that you might not have been able to enjoy for a while.
If you’re looking to indulge this summer, here are some foods that your dental implants can let you eat (in moderation, anyway).
Barbecue
Summer barbecues are a highlight of the year, and some of the tougher meats can be hard for people who are missing teeth to get through. However, for your dental implants, there shouldn’t be any problems!
You can enjoy everything from brisket to hot dogs, and any side you’d like. Just be a little bit careful around ribs—biting into bone can still damage the porcelain on your dental implant, so you may want to consider pulling the meat apart before you eat.
Ice Cream
If you’ve been dealing with a decayed or missing tooth, it may have been a struggle to eat something as cold as ice cream without a lot of sensitivity. That makes enjoying ice cream quite an ordeal.
Dental implants don’t have any nerve tissue running through them, which means that you don’t have to worry about a twinge of pain when you bite into an ice cream cone. Be sure to follow up dessert with thorough brushing and flossing to protect the integrity of your dental implant.
Summer Salad
The leafy greens in summer salads can be a little bit tough to grind up if you’re missing teeth. That can prevent you from getting all the nutrients that you can from these salads.
Summer salads are a delicious way to take advantage of ripe vegetables and get the vitamins you need to maintain your health. Dental implants can help you enjoy them without any issues!
If you’ve gotten dental implants recently, summer is a great opportunity to test them out. And if you haven’t yet, now’s a great time to get them—by this time next year, you can enjoy all these delicious summer foods too!
